Role Overview
As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer — AI Transformation & Domain Rewiring, you will collaborate directly with government and enterprise clients to drive business transformation by designing, building, and deploying AI-powered solutions. Based at the DGE Office, you'll work in an ONSITE, client-facing environment in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This role is a unique blend of hands-on software engineering, AI solution architecture, workflow redesign, and client delivery. You will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams—identifying high-impact opportunities, leading AI transformation projects across domains like HR, Procurement, Finance, and Government Services, and reimagining processes to deliver measurable operational improvements and AI adoption.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders and domain experts to analyze and rewire business processes for AI enablement.
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows, define transformation roadmaps, and translate challenges into technical requirements and architectures.
- Design end-to-end AI and automation solutions, including generative AI applications, agent frameworks, RAG systems, and decision-support tools.
- Select and implement suitable models, frameworks, and technologies aligned to business needs for scalability, security, and governance.
- Architect and develop agentic AI systems capable of enterprise reasoning, tool/API use, and workflow execution in collaboration with human users.
- Build production-grade AI applications, backend services, APIs, integrations, and pipelines, connecting with enterprise systems (ERP, HR, CRM, workflow tools).
- Design knowledge systems leveraging document pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, hybrid search, reranking, and knowledge graphs; optimize for retrieval accuracy and reliability.
- Take solutions from prototype to robust production deployment: implement CI/CD, monitoring, security, reliability, and optimization controls.
- Lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and foster best engineering practices within multidisciplinary teams.
- Drive adoption of AI and automation across organizations, ensuring measurable and sustained business outcomes.
Must have requirements
- Minimum 5+ years hands-on software engineering experience.
- Strong coding skills in Python, Java, TypeScript/JavaScript or equivalent languages.
- Proven experience building production backend systems and APIs with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Expertise in enterprise system integration.
- Substantial experience with generative AI solutions, large language models (LLMs), RAG architectures, prompt engineering, agentic systems, and LLM evaluation.
- Familiarity with at least some of: LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, MCP integrations.
- Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP; Docker; Kubernetes; and DevOps (CI/CD, infra-as-code, observability).
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to work closely with business and client teams and deliver production solutions in enterprise environments.
- Proven ability to translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions with measurable outcomes.
Nice to have requirements
- Experience in government, banking, healthcare, or other regulated sectors.
- Background in designing AI governance, security, safety, responsible AI frameworks, and data privacy/auditability controls.
- Experience with additional AI frameworks: LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini APIs.
- Previous technical leadership or team lead experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in optimizing AI systems for reliability, explainability, and measurable business impact.
